Weathering the Storm

Welcome Back!

It’s good to be back after a long while.  I was itching to get back outside and then onto the web site.

I’m glad you are back.

2007 has been a tough year.  It has been a year of stark contracts.

Be sure to check out our new designed Your World Outdoors website that will be released very soon.

Life and Death. Triumph and Tragedy. Darkness and Light.

It has been a year which has given pause to the most resolute, and challenged even the strongest.

However, our mission remains the same.

Our mission is to present you with the complete range of the outdoor experience- factual reporting; coupled with powerful stories of the human experience- how people and outdoor companies survive, strive and succeed regardless of their obstacles.

Our  Goal , is not only to provide you with intelligent reportage of outdoor work, but also provide active outdoor people with channels for recreation and leisure.

Yes, it has been a year of contradictions. The West continues to be in a drought while the East experienced major flooding this year. New Orleans is still recovering from Hurricane Katrina, but Lake Superior is drying up.

Fire & Ice, Hot & Cold, Dry & Wet.

These contrasts of life are most vividly seen in the different photographic images we portray of the outdoors- forests and wetlands, mountains and valleys, oceans and deserts, conservation and land development, competition and cooperation.

“The Times are a’ changing”-

 Technology and Nature
As erratic rainfall and global warming changes the shape, depth, and temperature of lakes and rivers, fishermen and boaters must relearn the flow of the water and aquatic creatures’ new habitats. As land development turns verdant forests into housing plots, displacing wildlife; hunters, campers, and hikers also must be relocated and reoriented to the new lay of the land.

In this new issue of Your World Outdoors, we illustrate some of these differing views in detail. In our Outdoor News and Entertainment Section, we present four new pages: “Wake Up America!”, The Survivalist, Knowing Your Feet, and a new short story “Old Bear Run.”  In Outdoor Entertainment, you can find five new pages devoted to Outdoor TV Shows, Media Links, Great Books & Magazines, Great Posters, and a Professional Art Gallery.

An entirely new Section, Journeys Into the Heartland, highlights the full range of outdoor activities and attractions in the Upper Midwest. YWO hopes to share with you the excitement we feel when we are Up North in “God’s Country”.

In our Products Section, you’ll find Our Free Foto Gallery, Free Downloads and Products, Free Coupons, Discounts, & Gifts, and our extensive Outdoors Marketplace of on-line retailers.

The Outdoor Employment Guide, Forestry & Natural Resource Schools, National Outdoor Events Calendar, and Advertising & Marketing pages all contain fresh content within YWO’s Services Section.

There is very little hype on this web site. We take pride in offering you a cornucopia, a virtual smorgasbord, a moveable feast of tantalizing entrees and desserts without extra calories. It is up to you, our web connoisseur, to choose from our many selections from the menu above. News or Entertainment, Outdoor Recreation or Outdoor Business, Outdoor Books & Magazines or Great Posters & Artwork, Free Products or Bargains on Outdoor Gear.
