Introduction-
The overall mission of this web-site has been to explore the relationship between Outdoor Work and Outdoor Recreation. Our goal has been to build an on-line community of outdoor enthusiasts who were similarly interested.
Over the last three years, we have been unable to start a dialogue on the “work-play” relationship, but we have become increasingly knowledgeable on the interplay of trends and movements happening on the Outdoors Scene. We’ve honed our skills and revamped our web-site to better meet the specific needs of various sportsmen and outdoors people in the Great Lakes Region and throughout America.
We are still proud of our Outdoor Business Pages, Outdoor Employment, Outdoor Schools, and Special Needs Outdoors. We are convinced these unique features set us apart from other Outdoors web-sites. We feel that meeting the needs of specific niches of outdoors enthusiasts will be beneficial to everyone who loves woods, lakes, mountains, and streams.
Our Sports, Recreation, and Wildlife Pages continue to inspire people to become involved in the out-of-doors. Starting an Outdoor Business, Outdoor Money and our Outdoor Finances & Investing Pages give visitors insight to the Work World of Natural Resources, Environment, Tourism & Travel, Parks & Resorts Management, and Sporting Goods Companies.
We look forward to continuing to provide you with up-to-date information, news, and outdoor products in the years to come.
Against the Wind-
We think recent events have uprooted us as a nation. People are on the go. With a new Administration in office, change is in the air, but as some would argue, we may not be moving the right direction. People are laid off, houses are emptied due to foreclosure, businesses and factories are closed, college graduates are moving to a new workplace, soldiers are returning home, and seniors are relocating to retirement communities.
Partially reminiscent of the 1970’s when hippies transversed the country and partially reminiscent of the Great Depression and the Dust Bowl Era, we’ve become a nation of wanderers, journeyers, and travelers. In 1955, Jack Kerouac wrote of the restless and sometimes rebellious spirit of America’s youth in On the Road. But much before that, in 1840 the famous French philosopher, and essayist, Alexis de Tocqueville, wrote in On Democracy in America, of the incessant, dynamic energy of Americans. “Men and women are constantly on the move.“ It was this indomitable spirit of hope that kept Americans searching for a better time and place.
Perhaps, you can relate to this on a personal level. Maybe, recently you’ve had an overwhelming urge to go for a long walk; or maybe you just had to get outside or you’ll bust.
Our web-site continues to change, to improve, and to focus. Yet, there is consistency in our commitment to you as you journey outward to a better place.
The Great Divide-
As you can see by the Navigation Bar at the Top, our web-site is divided into seven areas. Beneath the HOME tab, you will find The Company, User Feedback, About the Owner, Contact Us, Sitemap, and our new Company Press Releases page. If you get lost or want a thumbnail view of entire web-site, please visit our updated "Sitemap" page for a complete listing of all web-pages. And don't be shy to leave your opinion on our User Feedback form. We'd be more than happy to hear from you on your thoughts about our web-site.

“I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favor to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all”. -- Ecclesiastes 9:11.
