It’s been overcast with intermittent rain showers for the past two weeks, and you’ve taken a break from work for a while. You want to get outside and do something but you lack the energy. What a good time to settle down and read a book.
But you’ve pretty much read everything on the shelf. It’s time to head to Buck’s Bookstore to pick up the latest adventure thriller. Maybe Clive Cussler’s “The Sea Hunters,” epic story of searching for and finding famous shipwrecks, will liven up your mind. Maybe some Tom Wolfe or Graham Greene will lighten your spirits. Or perhaps Tim Cahill, Maurice Herzog, or Nora Robert’s books will get your juices flowing.
If books don’t suit you, Buck has the latest issue of Outdoor Life and National Geographic in the racks just as you enter the store. When you arrive, you’ll probably see him stocking the shelves with colorful 2009 Calendars.
One good thing about bookstores-- they are cozy and quiet. You could just cuddle up in one of the over stuffed chairs and “get lost” for an hour, relaxing, reading, and letting your imagination wander for a while.
