The outdoor inventors of those creations presented below, were endowed with great imaginations; by inventing new products they demanded discipline & persistence of themselves. Their efforts and accomplishments are an inspiration to inventors everywhere.

Outdoor Inventor of the Year Award
BH Publishing LLC, in conjunction with its outdoor web-site, www.yourworldoutdoors.com, is looking for ideas and suggestions prior to the launch of its Annual Outdoor Inventor of the Year Award.
The tentative guidelines for this Award are: 1) the submitted invention must be used in conjunction with an outdoor activity. 2) The nature of the outdoor invention should significantly improve the enjoyment of that outdoor activity. 3) While not mandatory or required, we strongly suggest that the invention would appeal to a wide range of outdoor enthusiasts. 4) The product-invention must be in working order (i.e. Rough prototypes or example models that are not complete and are non-functioning should not be submitted).
The process for submitting an entry is to download an Outdoor Inventor Award Application from our web-site and complete it. Then, include with the Application Form, at least 4-4 X 6 photographs, which show the Top, Left Side, Right Side, and Bottom of the Invention. If the item is of irregular shape, three more photos may be submitted. In place of still photographs, a short five minute video may be submitted. On a separate document, the inventor should provide a background summary that includes; 1) time in development, 2) funds and resources used in the design of the product, 3) a detailed discussion of how the product works, 4) other products which work in conjunction with the invention (i.e. an add-on or attachment to another existing product), should be mentioned, 5) engineering or scientific research which supports the feasibility of this invention in use must be mentioned if this information is essential to an understanding of the product’s applicability, and 6) patents, registrations, or licenses held or applied for by the inventor.
Market research and/or immediacy for mass-production need not be included, but may be helpful in assisting our judges’ decisions.
Our final two criterions are: 1) the application must be submitted by the original inventor or an authorized party, 2) the product-invention should not be offensive, impractical, or in bad taste.
The winner will get $200.00 in cash in addition to being presented with the coveted Golden Goose Award at our Awards Ceremony to be held at the end of the year.

The Wilcraft™-Lake & Ice Rescue

Kenneth Johnson of Minnesota developed the Universal Compound Bow Press® which allows an archer to relieve the tension on the limbs, string and set the cables of high powered compound bows. When the archer strings a compound bow, having either two-piece limbs or one-piece limbs, the press provides greater ease and safety for the archer and less risk of damage to the bow's limbs and riser.
