How May We Serve You Today?
In this, the last section of our web-site we turn our attention to services. Helping People. We are in a sense, returning to our beginning, returning to our roots in the community as we bring you this treasure trove of outside advice & services in six different areas.
For individuals, we humbly present Great Outdoor Employment, Outdoor Schools, Programs, & Classes , and Outdoor Special Needs. On our Great Outdoor Employment page we profile 20 outdoor occupations, discuss future trends for employment, and profile some hot outdoor jobs at the bottom of the page. On our Great Outdoor Education Pages, we showcase close to 60 academic programs relating to the outdoors, with a particular focus on the Northland country. We also give you four links for educational financial assistance. On our Learning Outdoor Skills Page, we offer 35 specialty clinics that teach outdoor skills such as archery & bowhunting, hunting, kayaking, skiing, underwater SCUBA diving, and trapping. We will be expanding our outdoor school's financial assistance next year, to include internships, outdoor scholarships, and work-study opportunities.
Our Outdoor Special Needs Pages present perhaps the largest single source of outdoor programs for people with developmental disabilities, physical or mental limitations, or people with serious injuries. These 55 outdoor special needs programs are organized in 13 different categories as follows: 1) National Full-Year Recreation Programs, 2) General Camps, 3) Summer Camps, 4) Children’s Camps 5) Athletic Training Camps, 6) Team Sports 7) Individual Sports, 8) Wheelchair & Other Sports, 9) Hunting & Fishing, 10) Disabled Veteran’s, 11) Organized Activities, & Individual Instruction, 12) Other Outdoor Related, and 13) Seniors and Travel Programs. There is much work still to be done for seniors, disabled, and for others with special needs.
For businesses, we give the outdoor business owner information on other outdoor businesses worthy of partnering with. In this regard, we have partnered with 50 independent and specialty retailers, and extend an invitation for you to join our Reciprocal Link Exchange Program. We profile our major link affiliates on our Outdoor Affiliates & Link Partners page. And lastly, we provide marketing and advertising opportunities on our Advertising & Corporate Sponsorships .
For the future, we will be delivering an up-to-date employment database for outdoor occupations by partnering with leaders in the field of outdoor employment: Monster.Com, OutdoorIndustryJobs.Com, JobMonkey.Com, and the National Parks Service. We plan to develop our Special Needs Section more extensively as there will be increased demand for this service. Finally, we are working toward long term link arrangements with our Outdoor Affiliates to bring you a level of service which keeps you coming back to our web site.
It is our goal at YWO to make visiting us a pleasurable and rewarding experience.
Please drop by anytime and we'll be here. Thank you very much for your support!
