  • 591,000 Hunters
  • 2,159,000 Nature or Wildlife Photographers/Spectators
  • 15 State Forests
  • 50 State Parks
  • 2 National Forests
  • 2 National Parks
  •  350 Wildlife Areas
  • 42 State Trails.
  • .A total of16 million total acres of state forest land under DNR control; but only 514,000 acres is actively managed. There are 5 million acres of Wetlands in the State.
  • 45 State Campgrounds

Did you Know that?

  • There are 15,081 total lakes, and 6,044 navigable lakes with over 10 acres in Wisconsin. 
  • Devil’s Lake, located in the Devil’s Lake State Park, is the State’s largest Lake.
  • 46 % of Wisconsin is comprised of forested land.
  •  $1.9 Billion Dollars was spent in 2001 on Outdoor Activities.
  • There are 1,563 Resorts, and 869 Lodges for 2,432 Total Resorts & Lodges.  There are 729 Bed & Breakfast in the State.
  • The Major Outdoor Issues specific to the Wisconsin are: Recovering From August 2007 Flooding, Managing & Eradicating Diseases & Invasive Species, Monitoring & Managing ATV use in Protected Lands.
